Welcome to Children's Services

Over the past 30 years we have worked alongside and within the widest range of children's services. Recently we have changed our trading name from Recognition First to the Australian Early Childhood College to better reflect our expertise and programs. Our staff come from the sector all having many years' experience in working with children their families and regulators.

We currently offer a large range of support programs, including National Qualifications, professional development opportunities and workshops.

Core to our training and assessment program is a commitment to not only our students and their learning needs but, as importantly, a commitment to the children they will care for. Our graduates provide care that:

  • Is safe and supports each child’s health and wellbeing,
  • Provides opportunities and challenges for children to learn and explore their world,
  • Supports children as individuals that move at their own pace,
  • Provide inclusive environments where children, families and childcare staff work together,
  • Implements regulations and strives for the highest quality standards of care and education to be achieved.

Students can enrol and study with the Australian Early Childhood College under a number of government funded programs or can self-fund their own training and assessment. Traineeships are the most common group enrolled by Australian Early Childhood College, and we have developed processes that work for the student while still acknowledging their busy work life in a Centre.

See our Program methodolgy for more details (in About Us)

Our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) offers Nationally Recognised qualifications including;

CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Qualifications Available

Recognition First offers the following Nationally Recognised qualifications under the rules and responsibilities of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

You can also view our current scope of registration (follow the link and click on the 'scope' tab) on the National Register, known as Training.Gov.Au (TGA).

Children's Services Qualifications
CHC30121  Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
CHC50121  Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Students currently completing oprevious versions of these qualifications should not be concerned as ACECQA will continue to recognise current and previous versions of the qualifications as listed on their website. We would recommend child care educators who hold very old qualifications update to current programs to better reflect their current knowledge and skills.

Welcome

We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) which provides training and assessment pathways for individuals and organisations.  All applicants must be employed in the industry they are applying to train and / or assess in.  We train and assess using National Training Packages, which are sets of nationally endorsed standards and qualifications for recognising and assessing someone's skills.

Plagiarism

What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the act of taking someone else's material and claiming it is your own work. This can include, but is not limited to, written work, observations, curriculum planning, and QIP materials. Anything that you might make in your workplace can be plagiarised. All the work you submit for your assignments should be your own. When you submit work, you are promising that you completed it yourself and, if that is found to be untrue, there can be serious consequences. Your cover sheet is a legal document. It is here that you confirm that you have completed all assignment work yourself.

What about research?

During your assignments you will need to do readings or research about certain topics. This is perfectly acceptable. In these cases, you should always put what you have learnt in your own words. Sometimes you may want to quote someone else to highlight significant details or information. These should be used sparingly and shouldbe identified within your work through the use of quotation marks (" ") for short quotes or in a separate paragraph for quotes longer than one sentence. You must always credit who you have quoted within your work. Likewise, you should always credit where you got your research from in the form of a bibliography. A bibliography is a list of the resources you used and is clear enough that anyone reading your bibliography could track down that same resource and read it themselves. Even your readings in your training materials should be listed.

What about collaboration?

Sometimes in your workplace you will be working on things with your co-workers. This is normal. However, everything you submit to AECC should be your own work. You should not submit someone else's observations or jottings. You can use photos taken by someone else at the centre, but... Read more
