Through the Australian Early Childhood College you are undertaking a nationally recognised qualification. To be awarded your chosen qualiifcation you need to provide evidence to meet the requirements of each unit of competency proving both knowledge and skills.
All units require that students prove underpinningknowledge and must be able to demonstrate essential knowledge required to effectively do the tasks outline in elements and performance criteria of each unit. The performance evidence is collected to ensure you have the skills to complete expected tasks. These tasks mirror the work of a childcare educator. You must prove you can manage the task and manage contingencies in the context of your work role.
All assessment evidence must be demonstrated in a regulated education and care service, unless other options are specifically detailed in the unit of competency. In addition, simulations and scenarios must be used where the full range of contexts and situations cannot be provided in the workplace of may occur only rarely. These are situations relating to emergeny or unplanned procedures where assessment in these circumstances would be unsafe or is impractical e.g. emergency health responses.
Assessment must ensure use of:
National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care and the Early Years Learning Framework "Belonging, Being & Becoming".
