Consumer Protection Information

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), when you buy products and services they come with automatic guarantees that they will work and do what you asked for.  The ACL covers refunds, consumer guarantees, unsafe and defective products, purchases using lay-bys and unsolicited consumer agreements with door-to-door sellers or telemarketers. The ACL has been in force across Australia since January 2011 and has brought consistency to consumer law across Australian states and territories.

Australian Early Childhood College are committed to ensuring all students and potential students are provided with a quality training and assessment service and are well informed of their rights as consumers and given a fair avenue for any complaint. If we fail to meet our obligations students can claim compensation for expense incurred as a result of loss or damage.

Training Costs

All of our courses have different costs depending on a range of factors. These are, broadly speaking, mainly determined by the type of funding the course is delivered under, if available, and which state or territory the student is from. Many of our students access government funding to complete some or all of their studies. It is important to point out that government funding does not cover all of the costs of their training and students are expected to make some financial contribution to the cost of obtaining their chosen qualification.

Below are a series of links with information about costs specific to each qualification we offer, for each state and territory we currently train in. This information is current at the time of publishing, however costs are continually updated by government departments throughout the year. We endeavour to keep the information on this website as up to date as possible, but please ensure you confirm any costs with our office before enrolling by calling 02 4822 7109 or emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. Plagiarism

What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the act of taking someone else's material and claiming it is your own work. This can include, but is not limited to, written work, observations, curriculum planning, and QIP materials. Anything that you might make in your workplace can be plagiarised. All the work you submit for your assignments should be your own. When you submit work, you are promising that you completed it yourself and, if that is found to be untrue, there can be serious consequences. Your cover sheet is a legal document. It is here that you confirm that you have completed all assignment work yourself.

What about research?

During your assignments you will need to do readings or research about certain topics. This is perfectly acceptable. In these cases, you should always put what you have learnt in your own words. Sometimes you may want to quote someone else to highlight significant details or information. These should be used sparingly and shouldbe identified within your work through the use of quotation marks (" ") for short quotes or in a separate paragraph for quotes longer than one sentence. You must always credit who you have quoted within your work. Likewise, you should always credit where you got your research from in the form of a bibliography. A bibliography is a list of the resources you used and is clear enough that anyone reading your bibliography could track down that same resource and read it themselves. Even your readings in your training materials should be listed.

What about collaboration?

Sometimes in your workplace you will be working on things with your co-workers. This is normal. However, everything you submit to AECC should be your own work. You should not submit someone else's observations or jottings. You can use photos taken by someone else at the centre, but... Read more
